ANS:- 1st January is the qualifying date for the voters registration for the year of the elections.
This means if by 1st January of the year, you have completed 18 years of age, then you qualify to register.
But if you turned 18 years of age after this date, then you cannot cast vote this election.
If you are a first-time voter then to register you need to go to the website – www.nvsp.in . This is a government website, National Voters Service Portal.
As you can see, if you scroll down you will see a Form 6.
Click on this form. You need to fill this form if you are new voter and want to register to vote.
While filling this form, you will need to attach three documents.
(1) A scanned copy of Photograph along with your age proof.
(2) For age proof you can attach birth certificate, 10th marksheet, passport or driving licence.
(3) The third docoument is your address proof for which you can use electricity bill, telephone bill, passport or driving lincence.
Steps to attach documents:
After attaching these documents, submit the form.
After this you will receive a reference number on your registered email ID.
You can use this number to check your application status.
For the application to be accepted and a new voter ID to be issued, it can take up to a month’s time.

ANS:- Sometimes people’s names are wrongly spelt or the address isn’t proper and you want to correct these errors,
You will go to the website and fill Form 8.
While filling this form, you will require three numbers.
(1) EPIC number,
(2) Serial number of electoral roll and
(3) Part number of electoral roll.
EPIC number stands for Electors Photo Identity Card number.
This number appears on top of your photo in the voter ID. The first three are alphabets and rest is a seven digit number. This is your EPIC number.
When you receive your voter ID, you can fill your form. To find the serial number of electoral roll and part number of electoral roll, you have to go to– electoralsearch.in . In this website you wil have to search your name on the whole database. You can search it using your EPIC number.
Input your EPIC number and you will get the two numbers from there. Use these three numbers to fill in form 8.

Ans:- The rule states that you can only register from one consituency and your name can only appear in one electoral roll.The day you move in to the new city and new address, you can register using a new voter ID.
At the same time you will need to cancel the old one.
Use Form 7 to delete your old voter registration.Form 7 is used for any type of deletion. There is a column on this called ‘reasons’. You will list the reason as ‘shifted’ if you are moving from one constituency to another.
You can also use this Form 7 in the event of death of your near ones, or if they are missing or if or if a person is not qualified to vote.
You can use it for that or if there is a dupliate entry. To remone these entries from the electoral roll, this form 7 is used. You have to fill Form 6 from the new constituency that you have moved in, from the new address.
Note: What to do when your appliation gets rejected and you meet all the eligible criteria and still your appllication gets rejected. Then you will used the grievance edressal portal. This is available in the Election Commission website. You can submit there your complaint on any issue. This is especially used if your application has been rejected.
